CLUB HISTORY
In 1986 a group of local scooterists got together to form a scooter club, the
name of that club was "Stab it up a cat Scooter Club"
Very shortly, someone pointed out that we'd get taken more seriously (and
possibly stopped less by the police) if we had a more respectable name. Dalkeith
and District Scooter Club was born!
Throughout the years we have attended many rallies all over Britain and some
further afield. We enjoyed some success at off-road scooter trials and we also
won the Vespa Club of Britain "best small club" award in 1991.
Our club badge is based on the Rampant Lion flag which we re-designed for the
Millennium, incorporating the blue target behind our traditional lion.
The Club's main policy is to bring together like-minded people from all walks of
life to keep alive the traditions of the scootering lifestyle. This is
maintained with regular meetings, rallies and dances. We also have close ties
with other clubs, supporting each others events and enjoying a beer or two when
we meet.
Over 18 years since its formation, we are still going strong. With a good influx
of new members over the years, combined with the "old *******s" in the club, we
are in a better position than ever to enjoy many more years of scootering.
